Summary0000010: Mouse cursor disappears in FSE when pointer trails are enabled
DescriptionIf you have pointer trails enabled, the mouse cursor disappears when madVR switches to Fullscreen Exclusive mode.
Steps To ReproduceControl Panel > Mouse > Pointer Options > Display pointer trails
Play back any video in Fullscreen Exclusive mode.
Additional InformationI recently switched to using a pointer trail setting of -1 set via the registry (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Mouse > MouseTrails) as this does not display any trails, but changes the way the cursor is rendered.

Doing this allows the white mouse cursor to be affected by colour management software, or software such as F.lux, when it normally bypasses the GPU LUT settings.

Having pointer trails enabled at any level will reproduce this bug.

Unfortunately I don't think there's anything I can do about this. I guess that mouse trails are custom drawn by the OS, which is probably not possible when fullscreen exclusive mode is active. What happens if you try this with EVR exclusive mode? Does it work there? Or what happens if you play a game in fullscreen exclusive mode?

You're right, I can't see the cursor in EVR "exclusive mode" either. (I assume the "D3D Fullscreen" option in MPC-HC?)

Most games seem to render their own cursor rather than use the system one, so they are fine. Perhaps that could be a solution?

If not, it looks like I may have to stick to windowed mode.

Rendering my own cursor would be a workaround. Disabling trails in FSE mode would be another workaround. But these are workarounds for a problem that is not a fault of madVR, really. So this is something for maybe after v1.0. Because it's not a bug in madVR, I'm going to close this one for now. Feel free to ask again after v1.0 got released (still far away).
