Summary0000162: Black screen on next file playback with ordered dithering on HD3000 with FSE enabled.
DescriptionAs in title.
Steps To ReproduceEnable ordered dithering, let MPC play next file after playback. Audio plays but there's no image in FSE mode. Using Task Manager you can break out of the black screen in doing so you can see the video fine in windowed mode.
Additional InformationDisabling FSE mode, prevents the problem from occurring. Also the debug mode doesn't exhibit this issue either, hence no log.

Tried to reproduce this problem with both my AMD HD7770 and my Intel HD4000, but it works just fine here. No black screen problems here at all. Are you sure it's related to the ordered dithering? Try using random dithering.

Yes it's related to ordered dithering, random is fine. This also occurs on my HD4000 with 10.18.10.3412 drivers.

I've reset MadVR to defaults and recopied madVR across. Also done a fresh install of MPC-HC and no change. It would appear it isn't just a black frame, it's the final frame, same deal with the debug build not causing the issue here either. Win 8.1/HD3000 and Win7/HD4000 x64 machines tested, might see if I can replicate on a work PC too.

Duplicated on an HD4600 running Windows 8 using 10.18.10.3345 drivers.
Can make it happen by making sure it stays in FSE mode for a few seconds before skipping to the end of the file for next file playback, sometimes it works fine if it's only kept in FSE mode for a short period. All madVR settings are defaults.

Using 'Use separate device' also avoids the issue. However using that hack is still glitchy (multiple screen flashes on entering fullscreen and also parts of subtitles disappearing) even using prerelease Intel drivers 10.18.10.3431.

I still can't reproduce it here. Anyway, I've found a bug with ordered dithering handling (a resources wasn't properly freed), which has probably caused this problem. I'll close this bug as fixed in v0.87.5. If the problem still occurs in v0.87.5, please re-open this bug.
