Summary | 0000190: Black Screen for Still Images
Description | When you try and open a still image (e.g. jpg) with madVR as the video renderer (tried with both MPC-HC and Zoom Player), all madVR does is display a black screen (ie no image). EVR in both players is fine.
Steps To Reproduce | 1. Use madVR as the renderer, and open a still image file in the player. 2. You will see no image, just a black screen. In Zoom Player, you need to disable the internal image display function, so it will show through DirectShow (and thus use madVR).

I suppose this only occurs with Smooth Motion FRC turned on? |
|
No, tried with Smooth Motion both on and off, and no difference. It doesn't work either way. |

Is this a new problem? Introduced by 0.87.5? Builds before 0.87.5 didn't "remove" the bitmap from the video area after playback was paused. Beginning with 0.87.5 madVR now clears (black) the active video area when playback is stopped. This could explain the problem. The next build 0.87.9 will continue to show the last video frame (or only image frame) for 1 second after playback was stopped. Only after that 1 second, the video area will be cleared. Also Smooth Motion FRC being turned on resulted in still images not showing at all with all previous madVR builds. This bug will be fixed in 0.87.9. At this point I think the problem will probably be fixed in 0.87.9. Please double check once 0.87.9 is out and let me know. |

Hi madshi. 0.87.9 does not fix the issue unfortunately - still cannot use madVR to view still images in any media player. |
|
Actually, scrub the above remark - it did not work with 0.87.9 the first time, but it did the second. Thanks very much for fixing this. |
