Sorry for the very late reply.

For some reason loading your ICM profile didn't work, or at least I couldn't see any visible difference. So I've used ArgyllCMS "dispwin strange.cal" which totally screws up the colors (intentionally, of course). Testing with this, I could reproduce no problems with D3D11 10bit FSE mode. I've tested with both "disable gamma ramps" enabled/disabled. Everything seems to work as intended for me.

Can you still reproduce the issue?

you can not simply load an ICC file in windows that would be to easy.
to load an icc file you have to go to colour management -> advanced -> calibrate display -> press "next" until it's done. now you can load an icc file. don't worry you have to do this every time windows does an major update!

now to the important part i can'T reproduce the issue anymore on a windows 10 16299 build desktop PC i will try the HTPC later.
minecraft had pretty much the same issue and they fixed it a couple of month ago.

Haha, I cringe a lot when trying to find system settings in Windows 10. Every Windows version they change all the settings, move them into other places. It gets more and more difficult to find anything. That's progress, right?

Would be great if this is already fixed, would be less work for me to do. :-)

well it still happens on my HTPC.

so what the difference between them.
both are windows 16299 both are nvida 960/1060
one is a dual screen setup the other one isn't.
it only happens 1 time per session. after i load the icc file a again it will not unload it again.

well i press the windows key type it in and hope it is in the top 10 results. and a native english OS helps ALOT!
but the issue with loading ICC files is as old as the colour management itself. so progress is only made for important parts of the OS. major color critical bugs? who cares.
but adding 3 different types of "system" is simply more important.

Ok, is the ICC profile completely gone, even rebooting won't help? Or is it still there in the OS, just temporarily lost from GPU RAM?

Do you have "disable GPU gamma ramps" checked or unchecked in the madVR calibration settings? Does changing this option change anything for the better or worse?

And the problem only occurs when leaving D3D11 *10bit* FSE mode? Not when leaving D3D11 8bit FSE mode?

Which one is the dual screen setup? The one where the issue occurs?

i could only do it one time even a restart doesn't trigger it again.
so i guess it'S fixed.

i forgot the 10 bit part.
i'm on the single screen setup currently but it doesn't matter right now.
10 bit D3D11 FSE kills my GPU driver with no recovery so i have to fix this first before i can test this properly.

so the first try where it was unloaded from the GPU could be something wrong with the GPU driver too.

even in the past it was always the default ICC profile in the colour management even when unloaded from the GPU.

i try the dual screen setup one more time and give it a rest for today.

ok...

i got the "issue" two more times. by doing something really special...

if i can'T reproduce it reliable like in the past it doesn't matter in my eyes what so ever.

madVR is set to D3D11 10 bit FSE
check unload GPU ramps.
start play back
load an icc file in windows
stop playback
the ICC file is not applied but windows shows it loaded.

so yeah who does this normally?

Ah ok, I think we can ignore this special case. Thanks for testing it again! So I think we can close this bug report.
