Description | can only load a none BT 709 3D LUT if a bt 709 3D LUT is loaded | ||||
Steps To Reproduce | reset madVR to default settings go to devices -> your device -> calibration -> calibrate this display by using 3DLUT files load any 3D LUT in smpte C apply you will see "Plase specify which external 3DLUT file you want to use for this display "device name". | ||||
Additional Information | same with EBU/PAL, BT.2020 and DCI-P3. if a 3D LUT is loaded in BT.709 everything works fine. | ||||

FWIW, this is somewhat intentional. BT.709 is considered the "main" 3dlut. However, the reactions are bad. I should properly complain that a BT.709 3dlut is needed instead of these cryptic complaints. |

I think it was always that way. At least I don't remember having changed that code recently. Not 100% sure, though. I may have done some changes when implementing all those APIs for madTPG. |

FWIW, the latest build now accepts loading a 3DLUT in other slots without requiring a BT.709 3DLUT. Not sure if that configuration makes sense, but it's allowed now. Practical consequence: If you play a BT.709 movie, madVR will have to convert the movie to SMPTE-C and then run the pixels through your SMPTE-C 3dlut. |

this give us now the ability to just use a DCI-P3 or BT 2020 3D LUT with a display in native mode for all sources. |
