Summary0000315: madVR enters FSE Mode when settings window is open
DescriptionWhen "delay switch to exclusive mode by 3 seconds" is disabled, right-clicking on a video that is playing full-screen and selecting madVR from the DirectShow Filters menu in JRiver brings up the settings window, but it then immediately enters FSE mode, hiding the window.
Steps To Reproduce1. Disable "delay switch to exclusive mode by 3 seconds" option
2. Play a video full-screen
3. Enter windowed mode by right-clicking
4. Bring up the settings window from that context menu
Additional InformationSeems like this probably only affects JRiver

That's one of the many reasons the 3 second delay option is there. There is a certain delay between the context menu disappearing and the settings dialog appearing. So there's a few milliseconds time where madVR thinks going to FSE would make sense. And entering FSE can screw with the top-level state of the windows.

So basically this is pretty much expected behaviour at this point.

Any chance that could be reduced to something like 0.5s rather than 3s then?
The transition between Windowed/Exclusive mode is far from seamless on my system, so I'd like it to switch as soon as possible.

That's kind of problematic. I could increase the "0s" to "0.5s", but that might still not be enough. And it could annoy those users who currently don't need any delay at all.

Or I could shorten the 3s to maybe 1s, but that might be too short. If it's too short for some users, they will have the same problem you have now, with disappearing settings/options windows, with no option left to help them.

Or I could introduce a new option, but you know how much I hate adding options.

Would it not be possible to have the options window block madVR from entering exclusive mode when it's open?
Or does that impact multi-monitor setups?
Can they run FSE on one display while interacting with programs on another?
That seems like it would be a "neater" solution than a timer.

The problem is that the options window appears when madVR has already entered FSE mode. So the options window blocking FSE would come too late. Also, the options window is handled by madHcCtrl.exe, not by nor by the media player. So madVR doesn't really know when the options window is going to open.
