Summary0000397: The font used by OSD is always transparent making it ureadable in some cases.
DescriptionThe transparent font used in OSD is unreadable, if other text is behind it. Also a high contrast colorful image behind OSD text can make it unreadable.

Is there a way to add an option to change the OSD transparecy and color? It should improve the OSD readability in many cases.

MPC-BE does have the ability to change the OSD font and color, but all the settings are ignored, when MadVR is used.

I could try to look for a suitable video with some text on top of the screen, but is there a necesity to do so?

It is enough to get anything with text in place the OSD is displayed. The OSD is not readable, in such a case. The reason is the text behind the OSD has much more contrast, than the OSD does. So, the transarent OSD text is hardly recognizable, then.

A tranparent OSD is sufficiently visible on evenly filled surfaces, but put an image with many small contrasting objects (such as letters, digits small signs and such) behind it, and the OSD letters are less visible, than the image behind them.

Found a good example, so I made a screenhot and uploadad it. The places where OSD overlaps on subtitles is unreadable.

Ah, I see, thanks.

Will keep this open for some future time. OSD will be redesigned at some point. Right now I'm concentrated on algorithms and stuff, so no time for OSD at the moment.

Great. Thank you for your time.

This should be a feature request, but I did not know how to make one.

I'll close this bug report (sorry) because I won't really fix it until I totally redesign the GUI/OSD. Once I do, it will automatically be fixed.
