Summary0000042: memory leak with mpc-hc
Descriptionwhen using madvr mpc-hc constantly consumes more and more memory even while paused
Steps To Reproducestart a vid, pause it, check memory usage in taskmanager, check it again several hours later and the memory usage is crazy
Additional Informationi started a 480p h264 vid, paused it (was showing around 200MB memory used by mpc-hc) went to work, came back 9.5 hours later (was showing mpc-hc using just short of a gigabyte of memory)

to narrow it down to madvr, before i went to bed i switched mpc-hc to evr-cp, started a vid, paused it, then went to bed, when i got up it was using the same amount of ram (80MB) that it was using before i went to bed

Ok, I've let a 720p video stay paused over night. RAM yesterday evening: 200MB. RAM today morning: 190MB. My graph chain was LAV Splitter -> LAV Video Decoder -> madVR (h264).

Can you please check whether you can reproduce the problem at will on your PC? If so, please check if it might depend on which splitter/decoder you're using? Also maybe it depends on whether you have the madVR OSD turned on/off (I had it off)?

If you can reproduce the issue: Does RAM consumption slowly and steadily increase, or is it a sudden jump to a much higher level?

many things have changed since i posted the bug report, mpc-hc version, lav version, and nvidia driver version have all changed. I will try it today to see if it works and report back. To answer your question, i remember it was using a few KB per minute, and if i did have the osd on, it was just the timer.

ok i was not able to reproduce the problem today, but many things have changed so any one of them could have fixed it.

Ok, I'll close this one for now. If you find a way sometime in the future to reproduce the problem, and it still looks like madVR is at fault, please reopen this one then.

ok did another test, this time with the osd timer (ctrl+i) activated, when i got home from work mpc-hc was using nearly a gig of ram, so i have reopened the issue.

Thanks, was able to reproduce the issue with Ctrl+i. Should be fixed in v0.86.2.
