Summary | 0000463: Fullscreen exclusive mode is overlaid by a big red "out of memory" error when nvidia stereoscopic 3d mode is enabled
Description | Running madvr in full screen exclusive mode with nvivia stereoscopic 3d mode enabled results in video playing, but is overlaid by a big red "out of memory: error. Underneath the error message, video appears to be playing perfectly and sound is also fine. Statistics for video playing also all look fine.
Steps To Reproduce | In nvidia driver settings, enable stereoscopic 3d is enabled so my 3d movies will play. But desktop is set to 1080p50. Mpc-hc or mpc-be is started with madvr as video output and madvr setting full screen exclusive mode Mpc autochanges to 2160p and video plays fine, but out of memory error is shown on top making it unwatchable.

I'm a little confused. Why is MPC-HC changing to 2160p? Are you using the madVR or the MPC-HC display mode / refresh rate changer? Or both? Or none? And how did you configure them? |
|
My aplogogies, I'm using madvr to upscale 1080p23 to 2060p23 and letting madvr do the display mode/refresh rate changing. madvr settings: pc levels 8 bit display already calibrated bt.709 bt.709 curve 2.40 artefact removal - reduce banding effects medium/high image enhancements - none chroma upscaling - NGU high image downscaling - jinc, scale in linear light, activate anti-ringing filter relaxed image upscaling - NGU luma high, chroma normal after doubling - upscaling jinc ar, downscaling use image downscaling settings upscaling refinement - soften edges 1 rendering - in general settings I've tried every combo I could think of here, without solving problem currently have : delay playback and delay playback after seeking enable windowed exclusive mode use a separate device for presentation cpu queue size 16 gpu queue size 8 all default settings for windowed mode all default settings for exclusive mode smooth motion off dithering - error diffusion 2 trade quality for performance - everything off lav filters: NVidia cuvid, I have also tried dxva2 copy back with same result pc levels random dithering mpc settings, standard except for madvr |

Other people have reported this same issue here: https://www.svp-team.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=1484 https://forum.doom9.org/showpost.php?p=1659774&postcount=21170 Thanks! |

What about the madVR "display modes" tab? What have you set there? What about the "Fullscreen" settings in MPC-HC? |
|
Madvr display modes I have switch to matching dispplay mode when playback starts checked and also restore original display mode when media player is closed and 2160p23, 2160p24, 2160p30, 2160p50, 2160p59, 2160p60 Fullscreen settings in mpc are: launch files in fullscreen exit fullscreen at end of playback hide controls in fullscreen hide docked panels I have found if I have delay playback start until render queue is full unchecked then I don't get the memory full error. SO I guess that solves it and you can close this thankyou. On another issue I can't get direct 3d 11.1 to work for me. It starts playback normally but when I pause/resume or skip forwards or backwards sometimes the screen goes mainly white with the main contrast areas showing as a noisy outline. direct 3d 9 works fine. Seems to be just me that has this problem though so if you don't happen to know the answer to that don't worry about it. Thanks! |

Did the whole problem occur with actual 3D movies? Or with 2D movies? I'm asking because for 3D movies madVR should switch to 1080p instead of 2160p. You could try lowering the GPU queue size to see if that makes a difference. But I guess if the "delay" option already solved the problem trying to change other options probably isn't worth it... |

Problem was with 2d movies, and desktop was set to 2d. |
