Platform | MPC-HC 32bit | OS | Win 10 | OS Version | 64bit creators |
Summary | 0000498: Major crashes when exiting full screen, scrubbing timeline, or rightclicking on the screen in MPCHC while in exclusive mode
Description | Problem started after clean installing creators edition of windows 10. worked prior before upgrading to creators. PC shuts down with "shutting down" screen literally just turns off and reboots. Even tried different PSU incase it was a power issue. as soon as i disable exclusive mode I have no issue. Playing video games in full screen exclusive mode does not cause issues either.
Steps To Reproduce | Using full screen exclusive mode while movie is playing try exiting to desktop then going back to movie. usually within 10 tries it will cause the PC to crash. Skipping around on the timeline will eventually cause it to crash, as will right clicking on the screen to access options does the same.
Additional Information | I do not know what Aero/ Desktop composition is so it may actually be on. I have no clue.

No other user has reported an issue like this, so it's likely to be specific to your win10 installation and/or your hardware. It's really hard to say why this problem occurs. But usually the whole OS rebooting or crashing means that a driver is likely to be the issue. Have you tried different GPU driver versions? You can also try if madVR v0.91.11 works better for you: https://www.videohelp.com/software/madVR/old-versions#download |

I got the same issue here. GPU drivers crashing when right clicking on fullscreen/exclusive mode. |

As explained in my previous comment: Usually the whole OS rebooting or crashing means that a driver is likely to be the issue. Have you tried different GPU driver versions? |
