Summary | 0000559: Unhandled Exception Error Crashes Potplayer on File Close
Description | I'm sending this to NVidia, Daum Potplayer, madVR and DisplayCal who are apparently historic stakeholders in an issue I'm having whenever Potplayer references Nvidia CUDAs in its settings. On closing Daum Potplayer or changing video files, the attached alert appears: Unhandled Exception occurred [0xC0000005@0x00007FFDF49280EF] at nvcuda.dll. Additional exception information has been stored locally and this application will be terminated. Unfortunately, I've been unable to locate that "additional exception information." Nvidia's forum and Videohelp.com have offered no solutions. I see that DisplayCal has had some experience with similar unhandled exception errors centering around its loading order with madVR, which I've set to not load until it is invoked with Potplayer. I've uninstalled and reinstalled all applicable apps without success. It's frustrating to say the least. Bottom line, I have over 5,000 CUDA cores in my system, but none of them can be used. I'm hoping someone can resolve this issue. My 4-month-old system... Windows 10 Pro 64-bit AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X 16-core 3.40 gHz 64 gb RAM 2 x GTX 1080 Founders Edition GPUs (8 gb memory each) in SLI array DirectX Runtime Version 12.0 Nvidia Driver 397.64 NVCUDA.dll Version 24.21.13.9764 madVR 0.92.14

Same issue. I also sometimes get the message "Unhandled exception occurred[memory address] at madVR64.ax" |
|
madVR does not use CUDA, so it's likely a PotPlayer issue. Try disabling CUDA in PotPlayer. E.g. you could use LAV Video Decoder instead. |
|
Might also be a problem with SVP, if you use that, because AFAIK it also uses CUDA. madVR itself does not, so this is unlikely madVR's fault. Because of that I'm closing this bug report. |
