Summary | 0000060: Enabling smooth motion in 60p playback causes occasionally black frame flashing
Description | There is an occasionally black frame flash during a 24 mins 60p video playback at 60hz with smooth motion on. No problem with smooth motion off in 60p@60hz and with smooth motion on in 24p@60hz playback. I can reproduce it on both my friend's PC and mine. (All settings (other than smoothmotion) in madVR are default)
Steps To Reproduce | 1. Set smooth motion conversion to "Always" 2. Deselect "don't use linear light for smooth motion frame blending" 3. Play a 24 mins (or longer) 60p video at 60hz refresh rate 4. There would always be a black frame flash (at least one frame) during the playback (Sometimes it flashes after 10 mins playback, sometimes right after the playback starts.)

This is the same issue myself and DragonQ reported on the forum. I also have "don't use linear light for smooth motion frame blending" unticked. I believe it occurs with all video content, but there have been times when it does it a lot less often for whatever reason. It does not occur for me as often as it does for web2312, generally within 1-2 hours of playback. |

I got the same thing, however I got it with FRC on 24p videos (60Hz refresh rate). Here's my situation: - Play a video with FRC on (in my case, typically 24p on 60Hz) - At random times, black frames will appear very briefly. - The issue is not always repeatable: sometimes I can play an entire 45 minutes video without any issues, sometimes it will show up 10 minutes into the video. Usually what happens is that black frames start cropping up for a few minutes and then it stops. - I'm unable to come up with anything that could explain why it happens in some cases but not in others. It appears to be non-deterministic. - I tried fiddling with other madVR parameters (queue sizes, flush options, separate device, etc.) but that wouldn't change anything. - I'll try to grab a log next time, see if that helps. Configuration: NVidia GeForce GTX 570 (drivers 320.18) Windows 7 x64 MPC-HC 1.6.5.6366 LAV Filters 0.55.3 madVR 0.86.1 ReClock 1.8.7.9 |

I have found a bug which *may* have caused this. I hope this to be fixed in v0.86.2. Please re-open this bug entry if you can still reproduce the problem with v0.86.2. |
