Summary | 0000085: crazy high gpu usage with FSE and smooth motion
Description | playing video of any format, results in 95% gpu usage and massive frame drops when using smooth motion while in FSE, with the same settings and videos the gpu load does not go above 60% with smooth motion in windowed mode
Steps To Reproduce | play any video in FSE mode with smooth motion activated
Additional Information | have tried with software decoding, cuvid decoding, dxva2 native, and dxva2 copyback, makes no difference on this issue

What is your refresh rate and what is the movie framerate (after deinterlacing)? Are you using 3dlut calibration? |
refresh rate 60hz, no deinterlacing, video framerate well as i said its with any video i try it with so anywhere from 23.976 to 59.94, and no 3dlut |
Is this a desktop PC or a laptop with shared Intel/NVidia GPU? |
desktop with a GTX 650 gpu |
Hmmmm... There's a chance that when frame drops start, madVR is pushing the GPU to higher than usual levels. Could you please try to modify (lower) the madVR settings so that playback works fine in FSE mode without frame drops? After that please compare GPU load again with those settings in FSE mode vs. windowed mode. Is the difference still that big in that case? |
this one is solved, in both modes by tuning the flush settings as follows Windowed: http://truexfan81.net/windowed.jpg FSE: http://truexfan81.net/FSE.jpg |
