Summary | 0000347: madVR0898 made MPC HC Crush When Playing 720p video in Full Screen
Description | Tested (3) different versions of MPC-HC, all had the same issue (MPC-HC.1.7.9.x64, MPC-HC.1.7.9.x86, MPC-HC.1.7.8.x86): when I play any 720p mkv file with MPC/MADVR, it either crushed when I tried to maximize to full screen, or there were plenty of "snow flaks" all over the screen which made the video unwatchable. This happened only with 720p mkv file, I did NOT have the same issue with any 1080p file in play-back. The solution I found is to roll-back madVR from version 0898 to 08821, which made the issue go away. It seems to be issues with the latest release.
Steps To Reproduce | Install latest version of MPC-HC (MPC-HC.1.7.9.x64)& madVR (madVR0898) Play-back any 720p mkv file Try to maximize to full screen MPC-HC crushes or "snow flaks" starts to appear on screen

Can you make a screenshot of those snow flakes? If you can't capture it that way, maybe you can make a photo with your digicam/phone? When that crash happens, does the crash box look similar to this one? http://madshi.net/exc-ss3.gif Or does it look different? |

Hi madshi, Thank you for getting back to me so quickly! I uploaded some screenshots which I just took, where you can see the crush screen and version of MPC/madVR. It crushed 4~5 times in the past 10 min or so in my testing. However, I was unable to replicate the snow flakes this time, but when it happens, it's like the movie "Matrix" only with grey-whitish dots pouring down the screen. As I mentioned in my last post, all issues went away if I switch back to version 08821 of madVR Best regards, |

Please try with v0.89.9. If the problem sill occurs, and you get that "An error occurred in madVR", please click on "show bug report", then press Ctrl+C. After that you have the full bug report text in your clipboard. Now post it into a text file, zip it, and upload it here. Thanks. |
